Why You Should Choose Us for Mentoring & Design Services
In today’s fast-paced design and engineering world, having the right tools is important, but having the right guidance is critical. Whether you're a student, startup, or seasoned professional tackling a project in SOLIDWORKS,, mentorship and design services can be the difference between frustration and breakthrough. At CADimensions, we offer personalized, real-world mentoring for industrial design and engineering projects that actually moves the needle. We can walk through you with your project, review design intent, and offer modeling suggestions to get you one step closer to the finish line. Or maybe you are simply overwhelmed with CAD work? We can help with that as well. We offer design services, to help you create those CAD models. When you need a model for manufacturing, visual representation for marketing or a patent, or a simulation study done, we are here to help.
What Makes Our Mentorship Different?
Our mentors don’t just “teach”—they’ve worked in the trenches. From product concept to manufacturing handoff, we’ve engineered solutions for real-world industries: consumer goods, automation, construction components, custom machinery, and more. Our team utilizes advanced software platforms and technical expertise to deliver precise, efficient project outcomes tailored to your specific engineering and design requirements. We act as your second brain and sounding board; objective, technical, and encouraging.
We meet you where you are—whether you’re stuck in SOLIDWORKS, struggling with manufacturability, or just need a clearer path from idea to execution. Do you have a model started, but are stuck trying to get a certain form or shape? We can look at it together, and review techniques that maybe you have not tried. We offer a new perspective, that might bring in new insights and ideas. Not local? That's okay too! We can set up a virtual meeting and even share screens to review together. We also can sign an NDA (Non-Disclosure Agreement) to help ease any concerns of sharing proprietary intellectual information.
Need A Bit More Help? Consider Design Services
We also offer comprehensive design services to address a range of project needs. If you require a CAD model but don't have access to the necessary software or in-house expertise, our team can step in to create detailed models tailored to your specifications, whether for prototyping, manufacturing, marketing, or intellectual property filings. For clients managing heavy workloads or tight deadlines, we provide reliable project support—helping you delegate design tasks so you can stay focused on critical objectives. Every solution is customized to fit your workflow, ensuring seamless progress from initial concept through final delivery.
How do we get started?
Start by arranging a kick-off meeting with our industrial design specialists. During this initial consultation, you’ll have the opportunity to outline your project goals, provide background information, and discuss any critical deadlines or design concerns. We’ll review any CAD files, sketches, reference images, or physical parts you have available, allowing us to assess the technical scope and any unique manufacturing, functional, or design requirements.
At this stage, we’ll explore together whether personalized mentoring or full-service design solutions will best support your objectives. Our team will guide you in selecting the approach that aligns with your timeline, project complexity, and desired level of hands-on involvement.
Next Steps
Mentoring
After reviewing your objectives, we will work with you to schedule a meeting for you and one of our experts to go over your project together in detail. We will review any concerns you have about your model or project and go over possible alternate solutions, and answer any questions you may have. These one-on-one meetings can vary in time, but are usually at least an hour. Depending on the scale of the project, we can set up additional time, or multiple sessions as well.
Design Services
After the initial kick-off meeting, we will work create a statement of work, calling out the main objectives and cope of services for the project. This collaborative discussion and review of the SOW (Statement Of Work) sets the stage for a clear project roadmap, aligning expectations and facilitating effective communication throughout the design and engineering process.
After thoroughly reviewing your project requirements, and creatings the SOW, our experienced design team begins the modeling process. Leveraging industry-leading CAD tools, like SOLIDWORKS, we create precise 2D and 3D representations of your product, fixture, or equipment. We maintain open communication and active collaboration with you throughout, ensuring every detail aligns with your specifications and project goals.
Deliverables
Once the project is complete, CADimensions will provide you with deliverables. What deliverables are included, all depends on the type of project, and what the customer is looking for. If you need a CAD file, we can provide you with Native SOLIDWORKS files. Please let us know what version you would like, as we can work in the corresponding version of the software that you have. We can also create files in additional formats as well, like STEP & IGES files, which work with other CAD systems.
We can also use these CAD models to create drawings. These drawings can be used for manufacturing, as well as patent drawings. These drawings can be saved in different formats as well, depending on your needs. There is also the opportunity to work and collaborate using something called 3DX. "3DX" generally refers to the 3DEXPIRIENCE platform, a cloud based business and innovation platform developed by Dassault Systèmes. It provides a collaborative environment for organizations to manage the entire product lifecycle, from design and simulation to manufacturing and marketing.
